Physical Education
Physical Education at CtP is designed to teach students physical skills, develop confidence and fitness and create a passion for lifelong participation in physical activity. Students learn many lifelong skills during primary school years and physical education teaches them the importance of exercise and working in team environments.
At CtP School students take part in Physical Education lessons on a weekly basis. Physical Education at CtP is based on the Victorian Curriculum and focusses on teaching students a range of fundamental motor skills, games and a large range of sports.
Physical Education lessons are designed to be enjoyable and challenging so that students engaged and forming habits for lifelong physical activity. As lifelong learners, the skills they learn in physical education will give them the ability to make positive and healthy choices now and into the future.
CtP is an active participant with School Sport Victoria and takes part in a large range of sporting events. The grade 6 students take part in both summer and winter interschool sport, providing students with the opportunity to work alongside their peers in a competitive, fun environment. It gives students the chance to develop teamwork, sportsmanship and a strong work ethic.
CtP hosts an annual swimming carnival for students in grade 3-6, as well as trials for athletics and cross country giving students a chance to qualify for the Caroline Springs Primary School District Championships. In term 4, Grade P-2 students participate in an annual Junior Sports Carnival partaking in a combination of athletic and fun events.
